The Hotel Rock Lititz is a privately owned and managed boutique property. From the outset, ownership wanted the look and feel of the hotel to reflect the world class work of the companies in the Rock Lititz community. Kollab founder, Tyler Kicera, broadly collaborated with the hotel’s interior designer, Stephanie Kicera Design, on the lobby and common areas. In addition to other elements, Tyler was specifically involved in the design and development of a kinetic art feature which was engineered, built and installed by TAIT. Tyler also played an integral role in the design and fabrication of the reception desk speaker wall installation, which features RGB, LED back lighting and an array of retired speaker cones to immerse guests checking into the hotel.
Fourteen stainless steel spheres can each move vertically and are set to perform a short choreographed dance every hour. For special events, the kinetic feature can be set to run continuously.
A backlit wall of retired Clair Global speaker cones swoops up from behind the lobby desk and forms a canopy above hotel guests. The backlighting system can be set to a single color or cycle through an infinite pallet of colors.
